Austin City Limits (ACL) is back and Event Vines is excited to share the inside scoop! So, whether you’re a local or just visiting for the fest, be sure to check out our guide below!
All About ACL
Founded in 2002, the festival now draws in around 450,000 people- that’s nearly the same as the population of Atlanta! Held in Austin’s beautiful Zilker Park, (which turned 100 this year!), which we think is the perfect backdrop for a festival. Also, ACL has evolved to meet the needs of all these festival goers by creating a second weekend to make sure everyone gets in on the fun! It is reported these weekends bring in $200 million to local businesses. Quite frankly, we think that rocks!
What’s in Store This Year?
This year, weekend 1 is October 6-8, with weekend 2 the following weekend October 13-15. There are a few changes this year, which will make it easier than ever for festival goers to get to the music! There is a new third entrance and the stages have been shifted to improve sound quality. In addition, there are some exciting new offerings debuting this year! ACL Wine Tent will be a shaded oasis where festival goers can sip on wines from around the world. Topping it all off will be a silent disco every night from 8-10 pm at the Tito’s stage!
How to Get Around
Thankfully, a big change from last year is that rideshare apps like Uber and Lfyt are back! There are also plenty of bike stations for those who want to bike to the fest. Also, ACL provides shuttles from downtown and CapMetro will be on hand to meet the increased demand as well. They have even introduced the Fanzone Charter Bus for festival goers from Houston, Round Rock, Pflugerville, College Station, and more! Be sure to check out ACL’s site for tons of helpful tips on getting around.
