If you ever have someone new to Austin you have to bring them to Threadgills. They have a southern, home cookin’ type of food and their cornbread muffins are to die for. It can be a little on the pricey side but the portions you get are very generous. They do have a large backroom for parties and my family used it once for a family reunion dinner. The waitstaff is also very attentive. All in all, a good experience.
